Estimating a Japanese Pokémon card
PokéItem handles Japanese Pokémon cards in a Japanese binder and recognises them with the scanner. For each Japanese card, PokéItem shows the PokéItem index, a euro estimate computed from international and Japanese marketplaces, with its confidence level, as well as the card's eBay sales. Prices are updated every 24 hours.
A separate catalogue
Japanese sets do not always match French or English sets: their split, their numbers and some cards are specific to them. PokéItem therefore files them in a separate Japanese binder, with their Japanese names and rarities.
The Japanese binder has been open to all users since July 2026. A free account has one binder in its language; binders in other languages are included with Premium.
What PokéItem shows for a Japanese card
- The PokéItem index in euros, with its confidence level.
- The card's latest eBay sales.
- The card's price history.
The “lowest Cardmarket listing” line, shown for European cards, does not appear for Japanese cards: the index draws on international and Japanese sources, whose prices are converted to euros.
The limits of the estimate
- The European market for Japanese cards is thinner: there are fewer sales and wider gaps between sellers.
- Original prices in yen or dollars vary with the exchange rate.
- Japanese promos exist in many variants; check the card's number and code.
The confidence level shown next to the index indicates how far the estimate rests on sales.
