AI assistant
Use PokéItem in your AI assistant
PokéItem connects to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants that support the MCP protocol. Once linked to your account, the assistant can look up PokéItem prices, read and organise your binder and identify a card from a photo, within the permissions you grant it.
Server address
https://api.pokeitem.fr/mcpRemote MCP server, OAuth 2.1 sign-in. Enter it in your assistant if PokéItem is missing from its list of connectors.
Connect PokéItem
PokéItem works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any other client that supports the MCP protocol (Model Context Protocol). Sign-in uses OAuth 2.1: you log in on a PokéItem page and choose what the assistant is allowed to do. Your password stays with PokéItem.
- Add PokéItem. In your assistant's connector settings, choose PokéItem, or add a custom connector with the address https://api.pokeitem.fr/mcp.
- Sign in. A PokéItem page opens: log in with your PokéItem account.
- Give your consent. Tick the permissions you grant the assistant, then confirm with “Allow”.
- Ask your question. The assistant calls PokéItem whenever your request needs it.
You need a PokéItem account. You can create one while connecting.
With a personal token
For a client without OAuth support, create a personal token in the PokéItem app: Profile → Settings → AI agent → “Create a token”. Choose its name, permissions and duration (30 days, 90 days or 1 year), then paste the suggested configuration into your client.
The token is shown only once. Keep it to yourself: it gives access to your account, within the permissions you chose. You can have up to five active tokens.
What the assistant can do
Depending on the permissions granted, the assistant can use the following tools:
| Area | What you can ask |
|---|---|
| Prices | The PokéItem price of a card or a sealed product, including by version, language, condition or grade; the price history over 30 days; an opinion on an asking price, reasonable or not. |
| Binder | A summary of your binder, a search through your cards, your duplicates, your sealed products, your wishlist, your graded cards, a set's completion, your price alerts. |
| Changes | Add, edit or remove cards, sealed products, wishlist items and price alerts. |
| Scan | Identify a card from a photo. |
| Export and analysis | Export your collection; get an analysis of your collection. |
| Trades | Preview a trade with a trainer whose binder is visible. |
Example requests: “What is the PokéItem price of Charizard ex from 151, in English?”, “Which cards do I have duplicates of?”, “What am I missing to complete 151?”, or “Add this card to my binder” with a photo.
The permissions you grant
On the consent screen, you tick the permissions granted to the assistant. You can stick to read-only access, for example.
| Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Read binder | View your binder: summary, search, duplicates, sealed products, wishlist, graded cards, set completion. |
| Edit binder | Add, edit or remove cards, sealed products and wishlist items. |
| Look up a price | View PokéItem prices and their history, check an asking price. |
| Scanner | Send a photo to identify a card. |
| Alerts | View, create and remove your price alerts. |
| Collection export | Export your collection. |
Limits
- A PokéItem account is required: the assistant always acts on behalf of a signed-in member.
- Each tool has an hourly call cap.
- The number of distinct catalogue cards you can look up per day is capped. Cards already in your binder do not count towards it. The cap is lower for a new account.
- A search returns at most 5 results.
- Responses cover PokéItem prices and your binder. Marketplace listings (eBay, Vinted, Cardmarket…) stay on those sites and do not appear in responses.
- Any deletion asks for your confirmation before it is applied.
- The usual limits of your PokéItem account also apply.
Your data
When the assistant calls a tool, PokéItem receives only the parameters of that call (for example the name of the card searched for), never your conversation history. The tool's response (price, the binder content requested) is sent to your assistant, which processes it under its own privacy policy.
PokéItem keeps a log of each call (tool, short request summary, card concerned, status, duration), retained for 90 days and visible in Profile → Settings → AI agent. Full details of the data, purposes and retention periods are in the privacy policy.
Revoke access
- In the PokéItem app. Open Profile → Settings → AI agent, then tap “Revoke” next to the assistant or token. Access stops immediately.
- From your assistant. Remove or disconnect PokéItem in its connector settings.
- By deleting your account. Deleting your PokéItem account also deletes all your accesses and the data linked to the connector.
Frequently asked questions
Does PokéItem read my conversations with the assistant?
PokéItem receives only the parameters of tool calls, for example the name of a card searched for or the card to add. The rest of the conversation stays between you and your assistant.
Can the assistant change my binder without my consent?
It can change it only if you granted the “Edit binder” permission. Any deletion also asks for your confirmation.
Where can I see what the assistant did on my account?
In Profile → Settings → AI agent: the log lists the calls from the last 90 days, with the tool used and a short summary of the request.
How do I disconnect an assistant?
In Profile → Settings → AI agent, tap “Revoke” next to the assistant. You can also remove PokéItem from your assistant's settings.
