Scanning a whole binder page
PokéItem identifies the nine cards on a binder page from a single photo, then adds them to the collection in one tap. This feature, in beta, is for subscribers only: 10 pages per month with Premium, 30 with Premium+. It works on iOS, Android and the web.
How it works
- Take the photo. In the scanner, choose page mode and photograph a nine-card binder page (3×3 grid), lying flat.
- Review. PokéItem shows the grid with the recognised card in each slot. Doubtful slots carry a question mark, and empty or unreadable slots are flagged.
- Add. One button adds all the recognised cards, in Near Mint and at the day's price; another files them in a folder. Tapping a slot opens the add form for that card alone.
For good recognition
- A standard nine-card binder page, photographed straight on.
- Even lighting: shiny sleeves create glare that hides the name or the number.
- The whole page in the frame, with no cards cut off.
- Check the slots marked with a question mark before adding them.
Inventorying a large binder
With one nine-card page per photo, a binder is processed page by page rather than card by card. Beyond the monthly quota, the card-by-card scanner remains unlimited with Premium, and bulk adding from a set's catalogue lets you tick several cards at once.
