Collection value

Estimating and tracking the value of your Pokémon collection

PokéItem calculates the total value of a Pokémon card collection by adding up the price of each copy, based on its language and the chosen reference price: the PokéItem index or the lowest Cardmarket “Near Mint” listing. The total value is shown on every plan; the value chart, gains and the Analysis page are for Premium only. Prices are updated every 24 hours.

How the value is calculated

  • Each copy is valued at its card's price, in its language.
  • The reference price is chosen in the profile: the PokéItem index (default) or the lowest Cardmarket “Near Mint” listing.
  • Sealed products and graded cards count towards the value, each with its own price.
  • The purchase price entered on a copy is used to calculate the gain (Premium).

Valuing an existing collection quickly

  • Scan cards one by one, or a whole binder page with Premium.
  • Add several cards from a set at once from its catalogue.
  • Import a PokéCardex collection from a CSV file.

What the value shown represents

A collection's value is an estimate: the sum of each card's price at a given moment. The amount actually obtained when selling depends on the exact condition of the cards, the platform, the fees, the time taken to sell and demand. A collection sold as a single lot often goes for less than the sum of its cards.

The confidence level of each price helps spot the cards whose price rests on few sales.
