PokéItem v2: Prices by Condition, Scanner 2.0 and Your Data Protected
PokéItem v2 is here: prices by condition, an in-house price index, an integrated eBay market, a completely rebuilt scanner, 5 languages and an app 25× lighter. Everything that changes for your collection.
You track the value of your Pokémon collection on PokéItem. Until now, a card had a single price: the Cardmarket Near Mint one, that of a perfect copy. Handy, but incomplete, because your card isn't always in flawless condition, and the market moves every day.
PokéItem v2 changes all of that. Prices by condition, our own price index, the eBay market live, a completely rebuilt scanner, five languages, and an app that weighs 25 times less. All of it with a simple promise about your data: it's yours, we protect it, we don't sell it.
What Changes with PokéItem v2

1. Finally Realistic Prices: The Price by Condition
This is the community's #1 request, and we listened.
Before, your card in "Good" condition was valued as if it were brand new. The result: an overvalued collection value. With v2, each card now displays its market value for 5 conditions:
- Near Mint, nearly new
- Excellent, very slight marks
- Good, visible wear
- Played, well played
- Poor, damaged
You enter a card in Good condition, it's valued at the Good price. Calculated from the Cardmarket market. Your collection value finally becomes honest.
2. The PokéItem Price Index
This is v2's big undertaking.
Instead of depending on a single marketplace, we built our own reference price: an algorithm fed by several market sources, with a confidence score per card.
As soon as confidence is good or high, it's the PokéItem price that displays. Otherwise, we keep the Cardmarket Near Mint low, so we never show you a questionable price.
Our goal: for the PokéItem price to become a reference for the Pokémon TCG, in France as internationally.
3. The eBay Market, Directly in the App
A reference price is useful. But to decide whether to buy or sell, you want to see what's really happening on the market.
That's why we integrated eBay into each card's page, in three tabs:
- Completed sales: what the card actually sells for, with date and price
- Active listings: the live offers, to spot a good deal
- Ongoing auctions: the hot sales to follow live
All of it filtered according to your market 🇫🇷 🇬🇧 🇮🇹 🇩🇪 🇪🇸.
4. The Scanner, Completely Rebuilt
You told us: the scanner needed to be more accurate. We didn't postpone it, we rebuilt it.
- Much more accurate: the right card on the first try, even on full-arts, alternate arts and secret rares with a tiny number, even with a slight glare or angle.
- Language detection: you scan an English, German or Spanish card → the app detects its language and suggests the right binder.
- Smoother: automatic capture (no more pressing a button), price displayed instantly, clean animation.
5. Five Languages, an App That Weighs 25× Less
PokéItem now speaks French, English, Italian, German and Spanish, each language with its own binder, its own prices and its own completion rate.
And along the way, the app went from 660 MB to about 26 MB. Download in a few seconds, and much smoother on your phone.
6. Your Data, Protected (and Never Sold)
You entrust us with tracking a collection sometimes worth several thousand euros. Security isn't an option.
- We don't sell your data. Our model is the Premium subscription, no reselling, no targeted ads, no advertising trackers.
- The strict minimum collected: your email. No phone number, no address, no date of birth.
- Hashed passwords (bcrypt): even we can't read them.
- Payments: 100% handled by the App Store and the Play Store. PokéItem sees no banking data.
- Your scan photos are not kept: they only serve to identify the card, then are deleted.
- Account deletion in a few taps in the settings. You leave, your data leaves.
And What's Next?
The PokéItem API is soon going public: prices, images and scanner accessible to all developers in the Pokémon TCG ecosystem. Graded card prices (PSA, PCA, BGS) arrive right after. And we keep refining the data, again and again.
