Delta Reign ME06: Mega Rayquaza ex, Cards, Products and Release Date

Mega Evolution - Delta Reign (code ME06) releases on November 6, 2026 worldwide. This set marks the return of Mega Rayquaza to the Pokemon TCG, the first time since the XY - Ancient Origins set in 2015. It also introduces a brand new mechanic: Legendary Stadiums, two cards that combine into a single panoramic illustration.

Delta Reign at a Glance

Delta Reign is the sixth main set in the Mega Evolution series, following ME01 to ME05 (the seventh if you count the special set ME02.5, which sits outside the main numbering).

Release Date and Schedule

The October 24 Prereleases take place at participating independent stores in the Play! Pokemon program: a chance to open the first Delta Reign booster packs two weeks before everyone else.

How Many Cards Are in Delta Reign?

The international version is based on the Japanese Storm Emeralda set (113 cards, including 76 in the main set), expanded with cards from the Japanese ex Starter Sets released the same day. This gives a main set of 103 cards and an announced total of more than 135 cards.

The 4 Mega Evolution ex Cards in the Set

Mega Golisopod ex hits hard against already damaged Pokemon: its first attack jumps from 60 to 220 damage if the opponent's Active Pokemon already has any damage counters on it.

Mega Golurk ex has the highest HP in the set (350) and a 300-damage attack, with one catch: its Ability requires at least 10 cards in hand to attack.

Mega Malamar ex punishes full Benches with its first attack (70 damage for each of the opponent's Benched Pokemon) and leaves the Defending Pokemon Confused with its second (200 damage).

Mega Rayquaza ex, the Star of Delta Reign

One detail that matters for players: Mega Rayquaza ex is Colorless type, and the summit Legendary Stadium from the same set reduces the number of Prize cards taken when a Colorless Pokemon is Knocked Out (see below). The two cards were clearly designed to work together.

Legendary Stadiums: the New Mechanic in Delta Reign

A Legendary Stadium combines two Stadium cards that, placed side by side, form a single large illustration and are treated as one card in play. A booster pack containing a Legendary Stadium includes both halves.

The set has three of them. The first one revealed, a mountain summit (096/103 and 097/103, Sommet Légendaire in French), reads: whenever a Colorless type Pokemon, yours or your opponent's, is Knocked Out by attack damage, the player who Knocked it Out takes one fewer Prize card. A Knocked Out Mega Rayquaza ex only gives the opponent 2 Prize cards instead of 3. In Japan, the other two Legendary Stadiums depict an ocean trench and a lava cave, two settings that evoke Kyogre and Groudon.

Kyogre and Groudon, the Illustration Rares of the Hoenn Trio

Rayquaza does not come alone: Kyogre and Groudon complete the Hoenn legendary trio. Their Japanese Illustration Rares are among the most spectacular cards in the set.

Kyogre (080/076, illus. Nurikabe), 150 HP, crashes in on a massive wave. Its second attack deals 100 damage, plus 50 damage to each of the opponent's Benched Pokemon if a Stadium with "Legendary" in its name is in play.

Groudon (084/076, illus. Ryota Murayama), 150 HP, erupts from a lava flow. Its second attack jumps from 100 to 270 damage under the same conditions.

Both cards are built around Legendary Stadiums. In the international version, Kyogre is also the full art promo card in the Elite Trainer Box.

Illustration Rares and Cards to Watch

On the Special Illustration Rare side, the Japanese set features Mega Golisopod ex, Raikou ex, Mega Golurk ex, Mega Rayquaza ex and two Supporter cards, including one featuring Zinnia, the character from the Delta Episode of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

What the Cards Are Worth in Japan

Storm Emeralda has been out for six weeks in Japan, which gives a first look at the card value hierarchy. Prices recorded on September 14, 2026, retail prices at Japanese stores, ungraded cards:

The trend is clear: the Mega Ultra Rare Mega Rayquaza was trading around 348,000 yen on release day, and both flagship Rayquaza versions have dropped roughly 70% from their launch prices. The Japanese market concentrates value on Rayquaza and Raikou ex, with the rest of the set trading at accessible levels.

These figures do not translate directly to the international version: print runs, international-exclusive additions and local demand all cause prices to diverge. Real prices will form in the days following November 6.

• The Eevee Illustration Rare 114/103, exclusive to the international version, adds a collection target that Japanese players did not get in their booster packs.

In practical terms: if you are after the ETB and its Kyogre promo, preordering is the safest strategy. For individual cards, the price drop seen in Japan after release suggests patience pays off: buying the specific card you want a few weeks after launch often costs less than opening booster packs on day one.
