PokéItem 1.2.0: Social Features, the Marketplace, and TCG Stores Have Arrived

PokéItem is a Pokémon TCG collection management app available on iOS, Android, and the web. Up until now it brought together the catalogue, the scanner, binders, value tracking, and price alerts. With version 1.2.0, it adds everything that was missing to make it a complete ecosystem: a network for collectors, a marketplace to buy and sell cards, a directory of physical stores, and messaging.

This is the biggest update since the app launched, and it arrives less than four months later. In the meantime, version 1.1.9 had already introduced offline mode, eBay alerts, and advanced search. The pace is part of the project: a Pokémon app that improves every few weeks, not every year.

1. A Network Built for Collectors, Not Just Another Social Network

The PokéItem Network starts from a simple idea: your collection is already your profile. Every trainer gets a public page with a showcase (their four best cards), their binder, their stats, and their social links. You follow the collectors you care about, see their latest finds in a live activity feed, and can send a "Poké" to say hello, the shortest gesture in the world between two collectors.

You stay in control: a profile can be set to private while still being reachable, and your collection value can be hidden independently of everything else. Showing your cards without showing what they are worth is entirely possible.

2. A Marketplace Between Trainers, Backed by Real Prices

The Marketplace lets you list your cards and sealed products for sale and buy from other collectors. What sets it apart from a general classifieds site is that it is connected to PokéItem's price data: every listing shows where it stands relative to the market price. You can see immediately whether a listing is above or below the going rate.

The "For Me" filter cross-references listings with your collection and only shows cards you are missing or have on your wish list. You can also filter by set or rarity, and check the legitimacy of a listing with the community before buying.

PokéItem takes no commission and does not handle payment: the Marketplace connects people, and the transaction stays between collectors. Every listing photo goes through automated moderation before it goes live, and any listing can be reported in a single tap.

3. The Best TCG Stores Near You

The store directory lists physical card shops with their opening hours, an open or closed status calculated in real time based on the store's own time zone rather than yours, and directions in one tap. Collectors can "Poké" a store to show their support, which pushes the most appreciated stores to the top.

If you run a store, you can claim your listing and enter your opening hours directly.

4. Messaging Between Trainers, Included with Premium

Messaging connects two collectors who follow each other: reactions, replies, read receipts, message editing, and mentions of cards or profiles directly inside the conversation, which is handy for negotiating a Marketplace sale without leaving the app.

It is deliberately structured: reserved for users aged 16 and over, with built-in anti-fraud safeguards (off-app contact details blocked at the start of a conversation, safety tips displayed, and blocking or reporting available at any time). Every report is handled within 24 hours.

5. Reliable Prices, the Foundation of Everything Else

A peer-to-peer marketplace is only as good as its reference prices. This is where PokéItem starts with an advantage, because pricing is its original purpose:

• The Cardmarket "Near Mint" rate: the floor price of cards actually listed for sale, recalculated every day;
• Prices by condition, from Near Mint to Poor, aligned with the market;
• Recent successful eBay sales, so you can see what actually sold rather than what is merely listed;
• The PokéItem index, our reference price cross-checked across multiple sources, with its confidence level displayed.

You always know where a price comes from. And since version 1.2.0, you can flag an incorrect price in a single tap, directly from a card's detail page.

6. The Scanner Opens Up and Goes Full Page

The PokéItem scanner identifies the card, its rarity, and its language. Scan an English or German card and it suggests the right binder. Two new features in this version:

• Binder page scan, in beta for Premium members: scan a full binder page in one go instead of card by card;
• Try before you sign up: you can test the scanner as soon as you open the app, without creating an account. And if you do sign up, your monthly scans are doubled for the first month.

7. Tracking Your Gains, Not Just Your Collection

The new Collection Analysis page (Premium) shows your best performers of the month, cards and sealed products side by side. You can now also mark a card as sold: the sale price is saved, and the gain made on each copy is added to your history. Your collection becomes a portfolio where you track both what comes in and what goes out.
